tgvideodownloader is a free Chrome extension that helps you save videos and photos from Telegram Web (web.telegram.org). This policy explains what data the extension and this website handle, and what we do not collect.
1. What we do not collect
The extension does not collect, transmit, or store your personal identity information. We do not ask you to register, and we do not create or hold any account for you. Your Telegram login, chats, contacts, and media content are not read, copied, or uploaded to our servers.
2. How downloading works
All downloads happen locally in your own browser. When you save a video or photo, the file is fetched directly from the Telegram session you are already logged into and saved straight to your device's Downloads folder. Media files do not pass through our servers, and we cannot see, intercept, or retain the content you download.
3. Permissions the extension uses
The extension requests limited permissions that are necessary to function: access to telegram.org pages so the download controls appear inside Telegram Web; a downloads permission to save files to your device; and local storage to remember your settings and selected items. These permissions are used only within Telegram Web and are not used to track your browsing on other websites.
4. Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics to understand aggregated, anonymous usage such as page views and general interaction events. We do not use analytics to identify you as an individual, and no downloaded media content or Telegram data is sent to analytics providers. You can block analytics using standard browser privacy tools.
5. Cookies and local storage
We use a small local cookie to remember your chosen website language. The extension stores its own preferences locally in your browser. These are functional storage items used for your convenience and are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
6. Feedback you choose to send
If you voluntarily submit uninstall feedback, the text you type is sent to us so we can improve the extension. Only the information you choose to include in that feedback is transmitted. You are never required to provide it.
7. Data security
Because media is downloaded directly between Telegram and your browser and we do not hold copies of your files, there is no central store of your downloaded content on our side. We keep any operational data (such as aggregate analytics) to the minimum needed to run and improve the website.
8. Children's privacy
The extension is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Users should comply with the age requirements applicable to Telegram and to their jurisdiction.
